February 28, 2024 is Pink Shirt Day
Now celebrated across Canada the original event took place in Cambridge, Nova Scotia. In 2007 high school seniors David Shepard and Travis Price bought and distributed 50 pink shirts in solidarity with a 9th grader who was bullied for wearing a pink polo shirt to school.
New Zealand began celebrating its own Pink Shirt Day in May of 2009.
